Hellenistic Astrology for those who have dealt with the savage lessons of feeling that they are a stranger in a strange land when it comes to gender, offers some real subtleties of shades of gray. This is as it should be.Each type of tradition astrology offers an idosyncratic gift and should be studied alone and in tandem with the other traditional astrologies, for the greatest large and finite picture available in the realm of Astrology.
Hellenistic Astrology, for a feminine man,for example, who might be born at night, with his:”sect leaders:Mars,Venus and the Moon in feminine signs, might indeed show power as a femininized man,but if his other planets are all in feminine signs, will not have the choice of living life with alot of masculinity. If he studies his chart,or has it explained to him,by as an astrologer knowledgeable about his real qualities,he will find much comfort in understanding his true propensities, which until such a time, might have seemed to him, possibly like an accursed fate.Particularly if he grew up in a place not tolerant of such ideas.
Conversely,if a woman, born during the day, with her “sect leaders:Saturn,Jupiter and the Sun existing in masculine signs and with all her remianing planets in say,all masculine placements, she might feel that she has no access to characteristics which make her feel natural in her skin, yet obviously this astrolgical system was set up to treat such cases with comprehension and intellectual knowledge. The Greeks were hardly lacking in sophistication and it is not an accident, that their astrology explains such mysteries of gender so clearly.
In Vedic Astrology there are also yogas of a similar nature which show problems with masculined women versus feminized women and the same for men.In India, though the feminine woman was prized for child bering and domestic propensities and men were prized for heterosexual propogation.Theirs was a more conventional culture.Make no mistake about it though, such ideas can be explored in this remarkable Astrology as well.
Those readers who assume that such traditional astrologies lack couth and brilliance, need to take a closer look. These more ancient astrologies in many ways are more modern than what passes as such now,in so called”modern times”.
